Default ls tranny question for boost

well i was talking to a friend and he was thinking of putting a gsr 3rd and his ls tranny for his turbo motor because 3rd is when the gsr tranny out accelerates the ls tranny and then the ls 4th and 5th for higher topend on the freeway for the v8 and supra's just seeing if it is possible or been done and would it be a good combination for a 430 hp integra

Well my question is do you want to go fast quickly or do you want to take a while to get to a top speed? Jeff Evan's covered this two years ago when it comes to transmission and gearing -->

There is nothing magical about an LS tranny that gives it some unholy top end. 4th gear for the LS with an 8500 redline would net you 137 MPH, vs. 128 MPH with the GSR gear, with a GSR final drive. The GSR gearing would net you quicker acceleration in that gear.
