LS rods, direct drop in to d16
$300USD is a stretch for the budget. That's like $400CAD. Add pistons to that I'll be paying $1000CAD plus head gasket and who really knows how the sleeves will hold. The more I think about it the more I'm considering just slapping it together with A6 rods and Z6 pisons to give me around 8.6:1 CR.
I wonder about using the GX pistons and a shorter rod. I've got a set of B16 rods here. They're much beefier than the A6 rods but shorter. The crown on the GX piston is taller. Maybe if it's 2mm taller and the B16 rod is 2mm shorter it would be a winning combo...
