Default LS or GSR for a turbo setup?

which motor is better (more reliable and more power) for running a turbo...a GSR or an LS. also, which can handle more boost being stock?

GSR

Ls will handle more boost due to lower CR, but you want quality psi not quanity

the higher compression of the gsr will mean more power per psi and also less turbo lag

the higher compression will help that turbo spool up faster fo shizzle.....wheeeeeeeee...well when comparing the two similar turbos and trims

the LS will be able to handle more boost due to its lower compression ratio, but the GSR will always make more power if the two are at the same boost level.

if you dont plan to build and just want to boost on the stock motor id say LS (even though i voted GSR). ive also noticed that if you compare the two motors stock, the LSs always seem to run better times (probably because of more boost)

GSR hands down... many people talk about the B18B handleing more boost, this is true only if you plan on running stock internals...... if you plan on building a quick car with alot of horsepower then GSR built is the only way to go..... and while you are at it get a B16 Head, breaths much better than a GSR head.

yes the b16 head flows better but under boost you rather have the gsr head.

the cams have less overlap and the head has less sharp corners which lead to detination

with proper tuning i thing both motors can handle high boost, but the GSR will live longer cuz of better oil control.

not to mention it flows way more than the LS

GSR

All depends if you are talking about a fully built motor or a stock motor a LS block is capable of making the same power as a GSR just depends on whats inside the block. Really the only difference between the two is just the oil squirters 1 and 2 the GSR crank makes better power at higher RRRRRRRRR's From what I have read and heard the LS crank will only make power up to 8800 RPM, and the GSR will make power way past that.
