LS crank shaft into GSR Block
Has anyone have experience swapping an LS crankshaft into a GSR block?
Reason for doing this is b/c I am experiencing a bit of knocking and I have cp pistion and eagle rods for the mint Ls crankshaft.
If I remember correctly, the Ls have a bit longer stroke than the GSR...How will this affect the head clearences? Correct me if I am wrong.
People that have done this, please chime in.

Re: LS crank shaft into GSR Block (project dc2)
what main/rod/thrust bearing should I be using?
Is this a wise swap? I would guess my CR will be increase. I will be using the ls rods and pistions. On an Ls motor, the pistons are rated at 9....I guess it would be higher when swap over with the gsr head.

All B series main/rod/thrust bearings are the same so that is not a factor.
And yes it is a very common swap to get a little more stroke and discplacement. No it will not increase your compression as the shorter LS length rods compensate for the increased stroke.
Your bearing knock has nothing to do with the fact that your using a LS crank.

Actually b18c rod bearings are different. B18a/b and b16 use the same ones.
Just to clarify

You misunderstood me...never said that. What I meant is that my gsr motor has a bit of knock now. I have a mint ls crank along with forged pistions and rods that I wanted to rebuilt with.

Why does acl bearing sell b18c1/b18c5, b16, and b18b/a in a different set?

I think you are right ? anyone know the acl bearing part number for the b18b/a and b18c bearing?
