low hp on ls/vtec
Hi, I have a boosted ls/vtec crx.
My normal whp on my car is around 425 whp on 23 psi.
It was a year since my last dyno and went to the dyno today and my surprise was on the same boost level I hit 340 whp.
It's the same motor, 190 compression on all 4 cilinders, tuning is good, but it's not doing more hp after 6500 rpm
The only change I made was to put a 2.75 inch piping infront of the turbo to the outside of the car. ( It's 2.5 feet long and comes outside the front left bumper).
Could it be possible that that piping is restricting the air coming into the turbo? I know the turbo sucks tremendous amount of air, but I don't know if this piping is blocking that. I just wanted some fresh air from the outside of the car. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Was it a different dyno? Plus what was the weather like last time you dynoed compared to this time? Theres alot of factors that could cause that.

Re: low hp on ls/vtec
huh?
dyno time is expensive but what i would do is get rid of the pipe. try a run. see if that helps.
are you running lean at all? rich?

I already got rid of the piping and another thing i forgot is that on the previous valve cover I had two hoses to a catchcan for the engine to breathe better, but I bought a type r valve cover and I didn't want to make the two holes for the lines to the catch can. Maybe is that also a problem? The block is B18B and doesnt' have the stock pcv valve.
