Default Loud Valvetrain?

I am hearing a lot of noise coming, sounds like ticking coming from my engine at idle. You cant hear it with the fuel pump from inside but if you pop the hood and listen in the engine bay you can hear it loud and clear. Do i just need to adjust my valves or is this a sign of bigger problems? I think it is just some valve lash but not sure. Also does anyone else have a loud inline pump? Mine makes a lot of noise as of late and should i upgrade to an intank? I have the usual 12:1 fmu and stock everything else except fot the pump? Thanks for any help.

could be valves, could be forged pistons and rods. is it like chattering?

Sometimes a "tick" can come from injectors as they fire. Just a thought.

Yeah, my DSM injectors are very loud, but I doubt that's your problem b/c my stocks never were, and you said your on an FMU, so I'm assuming stock injectors.

I'd adjust your valves first, and if that doesn't do the trick, go to a slightly thicker oil. That'll help.
