lost motion assemblies question ?
hello everybody.
how do you remove them? just pulling them out?
im rebuilding my engine for high boost and i keep the head stock.
now, i think that some of my lost motion assemblies are fucked, when i push some of the middle rockers thay dont come back up....
so should i replace them to oem or is there any other aftermarket manufacturer that makes them?
thanks...

replacing them is a bitch if you have no experience crackin motors open..i have a bal LMA in my 4th cylinder..i got quoted for labor repair from 700 to even 1200 just to replace these damn things..your better off getting a new head..like im doing..and if you ARE going to replace them yourself given you have the knowledge..search the forum for h22a LMA's and how to put them in your b series (assuming you have a b series)...they have more of a surface area reducing postential wear..u just have to rig it with washers and alot of pro tuners modders and engine builders use this method so its not like its ghetto rigging it..anyways.search the forum for that particular thread its about 6-7 pages long chalk full of LMA crap
take out your cams, take out rockers, and there you have it, you have access to the LMA's.
get h22 lmas, MUCH cheaper, i just bought eight for like 64$. then go to a hardware store and get .040 shims/washers.

layman's explaination-'lost motion assemblies provide the resistance to rocker arms to push them back up.'
here is a thread that brushes on the topic.

to the OP, sorry for going offtopic.

make sure before you put them in you fill the hole they sit in with oil or it will sound like the motors going to blow up when you start it..some people soak them in oil overnight
They are simple to change ...if you can change cams you can change them as well
