Default Loosing Oil

I posted a while back about loosing/using alot of oil and. I have a LS turbo with about 3000 miles on it. I drive the car about 200 miles a day and I am using about 2 quarts of oil a week. I do not see the motor burning oil when it is just sitting there idoling. When I get on it hard the only thing I see come out sometimes is carbon (black smoke). I did a compression test and it was 125 straight across the board. I am not sure if this is low or what. I am running JE 9:1 pistons and a LS head that has been ported and polished but otherwise stock. Any ideas? TIA

Default Re: Loosing Oil (underpressure (wtbimport))

oil consumption will go up with a forged piston, thats pretty normal. that may be the culprit.

Thanks for the input. Does that sound like a lot of oil to you? To my pocket and me I know it costs me an extra 10 bucks a week in oil. I was going to switch b/c I have read that the Mobil 1 is thinner and even though it protects your engine better then conventional oil it will use more then conventional oil.
