looking for a website where someone built a 400hp turbo LS!
Someone posted a website where someone had built like a 330whp turbo LS, 350whp turbo GSR, and a 400whp prelude on pump gas.. They used XS engineering turbos.. I cant find the website and I was wondering if anybody knew a link or anything or remembers the post I am talking about.. It had something to do with "whoever said LS's couldnt be fast" or sumthing like that

well they also made like 400whp out of the LS using race gas.. I wanted to see what boost they were running and what set up they had cause I cant remember..

I think that i could possibly make 400hp out of my stock block ls on race gas and water injection. I know that Stoopid has ran stock ls blocks on 18psi on pump 93 octane gas. It all comes down to tuning. Although at those kinds of boost levels the limits of the stock internals come into play. Right now on 12psi daily driven i am making a hair over 300whp. So at 18psi, using the figure of 15hp for every 1lb of boost you would be at that goal. LS blocks are cheap enough that you could run one on that high of boost of a few months...hell i pick up my long block for 100.00 from the junk yard!

Water injection is when you inject water into the intake stream, it lowers the ambient temperature of the air coming into the engine. Water injection also steam cleans the inside of your engine and effectively takes away carbon hot spots that build up on the inside of your combustion chambers, thus negating detonation. Water injection allows you to run more timing with boost, or more boost with less timing. I run 50% water, 50% alcohol mixture, this works very very well at surpressing detonation, so much so that i didnt have any pinging when i cranked up the boost the other day to 15psi and drove around for awhile on it. Basically you can compare water injection to run race gas...it cools the combustion chambers down significantly.
I actually bought the 3 ls block that the yard had. I already sold the other two of them a few months ago...sorry. I call every month to see what the guy has in, but he doesnt get many if any hondas in...so i dont know when another engine will pop up. I truely believe that the LS block is the best for the dollar engine to turbo. Although the GSR engine is significantly engineered better the LS can make similar power levels on stock internals. It really all comes down to tuning.
Oh, btw when i ran around on 15psi my standalone calculated that i was making 370ish flywheel hp. It is accurate to within 15hp, so i am almost at the 400hp goal. I will have to see how the block holds up. So far, so good...(my fingers crossed!)

I have a EFI PMS with the Interaq software, which has datalogging software on it. The datalogging estimates hp...and it does a decent job at it. I am totally happy with the PMS system, despite what people have said about it on here.
