looking for a shelf kit for a b18c1 setup
I found a nice vid on youtube of this exact turbo and it made 430whp just waiting to find out what fuel was used and the power it makes is more than enough and the powerband looked perfect for street. im also putting it in my DA

For any of these street setups used, no real power is gained after 8000rpms anyway. This "bigger turbo" logic is the reason why a lot of these hondas get useless in higher rpms against cars with smaller units that have a better torqueband. Better acceleration, more usable powerband, not some silly peak number to brag about. What good is 400whp on 91 octane if its only used the last 2000rpms of powerband?
Probably ID injectors and im going to call whatever company that i buy the kit from and ask them what size for exact kit.. i just posted a vid of this turbo making 430whp.

Not true at all, with a proper wheel and housing combination you can have both.
Lightningteg made 300/300 on a stock ls with a gt280 and carried the torque flat all the way to redline.
I can make 400 with a gt2871 and have the top end of a bigger turbo (example a 50 trim) but have the down low torque production that peaks and carries where a larger turbo would just start spooling.
Smaller turbo does not equal little power....people needs to get over this idea that they need huge turbos for a tiny power goal and complain because its too laggy and sucks to drive on the street. You wouldn't dd a gt42r on a b16 now would you?
Comparing a 50 trim t04e to a gt2871 is the same comparison. Why have tons of lag and have a shitty power band as well as a narrow rpm range to use.. especially when you could size a turbo properly for your power goal and purpose of vehicle and have a retardedly huge, fat, torque loving power band - see it all the time at our shop and on various forums.

Log manifold will provide the bestresponse/spool and support your goals without issue
The ramhorm and top mounts have longer runners which means not only a drop in exhaust gas velocity but in temperature, effectively reducing response.

wantboost. my car right now is running b18c1/b16 hydro tranny. so in 5th at 70mph is at 4k rpm. ill call go auto and ask them exactly what turbo when it comes down to it but itd be nice to hear others insights wisdom or suggestions.
what about the turbo paint and charge pipe paint option? recommended? im having the fmic done black so hopefully it wont be seen behind uncut bumper
Been doing this 15 years.. trust me when I say... GO SMALLER. STAY SIMPLE.
Here's a thread on the manifold choices you wanted to compare. it was in the FAQs.

Mini rams have a lot of issues with oil returns, the turbo hangs so low it's almost impossible to properly Mae a return line

The way mos people do it now is with a loop that gods towards the front of the car then to the pan... its angled down hill all the way but on afraid that band could cause oil to pool under hard braking/cornering g forces.
i doubt id be doing much driving like that but id rather be safe efficient and simple. i guess im going to just get that kit tell greg what motor consists of so as to determine turbo size. Then just rebuild and tune and whatever it makes that tuner considers safe ill be happy
made 298hp on 10.5 psi with a garret .50 trim 48 a/r turbo on a stock gsr with 93 octane. of course I only boost 8 psi on the streets but 350hp would be unusable on the street. my tires take a **** once boost hits at 3500-4000 rpms all the way to third.

i wont be doing too many full or even 3/4 throttle passes on the street. trying to preserve my clean driving record. But anyways what intake manifold do you guys suggest for the c1 head? Since p72 choices are limited and bbk doesnt seem to be offering one on their site right now.. Oem or maybe skunk2
