looking for a shelf kit for a b18c1 setup
Im selling my side project car and would like to buy a off the shelf turbo kit for my b18c1/b16 tranny integra. I'm not looking for anything ridiculous. heres what im looking at as far as turbo kits.
out of this kit options whats the best low key turbo option for around 350whp on 91 octane?? any of them?? i have No A/C or P/S
http://www.go-autoworks-store.com/gorakit.html
i was looking at the Garret T04E 50 trim .63 a/r turbo
What kit would you guys recommend for around 3k? im going to run one piece charge pipe so no couplers
my b18c1 is running but could use freshen up since its going turbo, heres what i was planning.
81.50 wiseco 10:1 forged pistons
eagle forged rods
acl bearings
moroso 5.5qt oil pan
oil catch can
arp hardware
ati harmonic balancer
fresh 3 angle valve job w new seats bronze valve guides
act clutch and flywheel
s300 boost by gear
then fuel setup.. and few other things.. already got walbro 255lph pump
i plan on buying turbo kit complete and then just gather the parts needed for the rebuild and then just do it all at once before it goes to dyno

i like the idea of the smaller turbo on the street should go good with b16 tranny.. so my proposed build should be sufficient then when tuned??

Its going to be hard to hit 350 on any motor with 91. The tune has to be spot on or you'll have issues.
I would suggest a water/meth kit to boost octane and lower intake charge temps, reducing the likely hoodof detonation

ok. thanks. Im fortunate to be close to churches tuning or do it dyno. Im just trying to build a setup capable of 91 pump gas and makes decent power.

Re: looking for a shelf kit for a b18c1 setup
Bigger turbo = poorer response compared to a 50 trim... if he can make his power on a 50 trim or an even smaller turbo, he'll have a broader power band which is exactly what a street car needs... low and midrange torque

Re: looking for a shelf kit for a b18c1 setup
I found a nice vid on youtube of this exact turbo and it made 430whp just waiting to find out what fuel was used and the power it makes is more than enough and the powerband looked perfect for street. im also putting it in my DA

Re: looking for a shelf kit for a b18c1 setup
Basically because of the fact that you're not dedicating this car to a particular drag strip or racing event in which you need to worry about the subtle timing of the gears outside of the final drive (which is identical on both the GS-R and B16). Those two are preferred over the LS, which has an inherent tendency to lower acceleration despite the threads saying that "you're in boost longer". Do not fall for that fallacy. Whichever transmission is ready to work, go ahead and use it. You've got other important things to address as you get this together .

Re: looking for a shelf kit for a b18c1 setup
smaller turbo=quicker spool but no big power after getting into higher rpm...he would end up maxing boost before having to shift on a WOT depending what his redline is set to.

Re: looking for a shelf kit for a b18c1 setup
if youre not racing then a 50 trim would be ok on street but dout youll see 350hp with that turbo.
i would research different turbos and look at specs...find a turbo that will get you to your hp goal..
what injectors are you going with?
