The motorola 2.5bar map sensor allows you to read above ~10psi.

The stock Honda map will only allow you to boost nomore than 10 lbs.

Right on. I'm not a fan of the long *** vaccum line, but to each their own.

Stock = ~11psi limit (1.75 bar)

Motorolla = ~22psi limit (2.5 bar, obviously)

Stock w/11+ psi = very lean, very risky.
Motorolla w/up to 20psi = very safe...assuming its tuned and strong enough.

Kinda a cool concept, but I would rather mount it in the engine bay

Hardly means it will be lean, hell you could run 20psi on the stock sensor. Just tune the 10psi column foir enough fuel for 20psi and expect the transition region to be hell reach. Still would run though as actually boosting somewhere between 10-20 on a single pressure wastegate set at 20psi is pretty hard.

I'd have a problem with running that much vacuum line to one of the single most important sensors in my car.

i am actually on the process to fabricate and machine an adapter that will bolt to the stock MAP sensor lcation and allow the user to bolt bolt the stock and the 2.5 bar into it

if i get it done soon, i will update

Hmmm, i thought 1bar=~14.7psi so wouldn't 2.5bar be roughly ~36.75psi

atmosphere is 1 bar + 1.5 bar extra = 2.5 bar so like 22 psi

Interesting thinking Jacques... the 2.5 bar is meant to be used on a circuitboard is it not? I mean, not totally weatherproof.

same here. Wouldn't a longer vacuum line skew the readings? I dont know if i would want my computer thinking its only 10 lbs and actually pressure is a few psi higher . But if it doesnt have any effect that kudo's to you!

Well I tucked it up into the passenger footwell last year, and it was just hanging from the plug with about 36" of thickwalled silicone tubing running to it, and things were fine. I figured this would be an alot safer and more durable placement for the sensor.

I'm not concerned whatsoever with the possibility of "skewed" or false vacuum/boost readings. Several OEM manufacturers and some aftermarket ones (Autronic for one) place the map sensor on the circuit board of the ECU and run vacuum/boost lines from the engine.

Can you not find a place to hide it in the engine bay? I hid my 3 bar just fine, and I still have it so it looks like the stock one is plugged in, isnt that the whole point? Thats pretty cool though

I just threw mine inside a $4 Radio Shack project box. Drilled a few holes, added a few grommets and some foam padding. It took about twenty minutes to make.

Is it big, bulky and unsightly? Perhaps. But it's also bulletproof.

Both are very creative ideas. I think the point is these things are pretty tiny and are not supposed to be in the elements. Like someone already stated they are designed for circuit boards. I know Megasquirt uses the same thing, I used one when I built mine.

I think I will probably build something like the box above for mine.
