Default locktite on studs?

would it be a good idea to use thread lock or whatever when installing those two studs in the head that are in the tight places when using a equal length manifold?

I supose you could, but I think that the excessive heat (exh. manifold flange is the hottest part of the car, esp. on a turbo car) would negate any advantage that it would provide. I'll stick w/ spraying them w/ WD40 and calling it good.

It would go up in smokes and burn right off so no point really.

i used locktite on my car plenty of times and it always melts off . if you read the back it says its only good up to about 250 degrees F so therefore it wont work.

I've always wondered what Honda uses on the manifold studs. Whatever it is, it works pretty damn well.

yeah, thats what i was thinking, i was gonna use the two on my b16a2 and move them to the two top end holes and then use the bolts in the two far side holes but i couldnt get those damn things out.
so thats why i was wondering would it be a good idea using it in the two aftermarket studs going into the head, if it burns then it burns, oh well

For the B18C1 the self locking nuts should be torqued down to 23 ft/lbs
