A little help with the VAFC2 HACK please!!!
I have a 99 civic si with built B20 V-tec. I am running drag 3 turbo kit and upgraded fuel pump from jackson racing. i also have the external pump from drag. I took off my missing link and FMU. I tried running the hack, but when i lean it out to 40-35 across the board my car won't even idle. it starts up, but then cuts out and dies. I set it at -20 and it idles, but in the begining it idles at around 550rpm and slowly climbs until it hits like 650 and then jumps and idles normal at around 700. is there a specific reason why i can't set the fuel settings like everyone else???
PLEASE HELP ME.

The hack sux. You will never see the full power potential of your motor and it just isnt reliable. If you are tight on cash go with uberdata or something. Now that we have options like this I dont know why anyone still wants to use the hack.

I disagree.........for one some of those programs had a blip in vaccumm which was extremely annoying so then I switched back to hack but used the program to pull timing (1 degree per psi) because boost transition is just smooth and idle is good using the afc and because im running 22 degrees advanced timing...I had close to about as much power as you can hope for out of a D series at 6psi....and it is reliable if you have your timing takin care of so your not detonating at part throttle and what not....I have heard they got the blip all taken care of so im going to try running turbo edit again and see what happens...under 10psi i say nuttin wrong with the hack, helps if you also know what yur doing but I think its an easy reliable way to run bigger injectors and have factory like boost transition for 10psi and under boost...
I do agree now with these free programs it can be better especially from the timing standpoint and im anxious to try out the new program from turboedit...
**this post is speaking from my standpoint with obd0 prorams, never worked with uberdata**

thanks for your reply. I am actually running 440 RC injectors and i have a MSD digital 7 to control my timing. I have retard 3 degree and my stock timing has been retarded to 13 degree. my motor is actually a LS block bored and sleeved to 2.0 from AEBS in san diego. I also found out that my motor idles better when i do have the missing link in. i also have enlarged valves and JG victor X manifold. i set my values for narrow at -19 from 1000-3000, then -15 from then on. it seems it idle better for now but i will do some more testing and see whats going on. any other ideas would be great.
THANKS EVERYONE

well, i drove the car all day today and was messin with the fuel setting. What i ended up doing was 1k -18, 2k-25k(-20), 3k-65k(-15). Then i turned the idle control valve up so my rpm was around 750, but it jumps to 850 sometimes. The good thing is that it runs pretty good now. Only once in a while it feels like dieing out when i make sudden stops and put it in neutral.

You're cheating yourself. A turbo setup is only as good as the fuel management it uses.
