Default Liquid-to-Air Intercooler Question?

Had a quicl question about liquid to air intercoolers. What can you fill them with? I know you can use water but then wouldn't it heat up in the summer and freeze in the winter?
Is there a liquid you can use in them all year around?

Also I'm guessing you need to hook the lines up to a pump and a tank to drain and pump the 'cooling' liquid through the intercooler correct?

You can use additive such as redline water wetter or royal purple cool burst. both can be added in the system ot provide the added protection . If you can also mix a little anti freeze in the setup as well Just water cooler like any old radiator

you should have setup such as this

resovoir- pump - lines to intercooler output line goes to heat exchanger then back to the pump/resovoir container

Now for a heat exchanger, could you just use one of those tranny cooler things they sell at part stores?
