line bore?
long story short, i think my builder isnt the most honest person in the world...the car has been with him for 7 months already (no this isnt mr.hankys alt
) and little has been done it seems. its a turbo'd gsr. the car had a spun bearing and was getting a full rebuild. he sent the head out to get new valves and spings and when he got it back, the cams would bind up. he told me the head needed to be line bored and new rockers were needed as well (not sure what line boring is).
well it turns out we get it back and its doing the same thing. so i have to be the one to tell him to make sure we have the right valve springs and sure enough, they are the wrong ones, or so he says (too much tension i guess).
well me being as dumb as i am, i paid for all the bs he said i needed to do to the head before i asked about the springs. we are getting the new springs monday and the car should be ready to go after that. my main question is...would a spun bearing have anything to do at all w/ making the head needing a "line bore"? what would cause a car to need to have this done? wtf is "line boring"? at this point im sure he is just jerking me around because he knows i am not a mechanic by any means (yeah i shouldnt have a turbo car if i dont know what im talking about, whatever). i just feel i paid for something i should not have paid for if the only problem was having the wrong valve springs installed. does that make sense to anyone?
