Valve springs upside down - re & Re????
my buddy just finished putting in valve springs by himself he consulted me first and I thought I gave him all the instructions he needed but I forgot to tell him which way the spring coil goes, you know where the last coil wind is closest?
Looks like all the springs are upside down - atleast he got the seals on the right side!!
Should I bother to re do it all over for him or do you think it will make a difference, I am thinking that these are progressive and could lead to coil bind at high lift???

Re: Valve springs upside down - re & Re???? (Tom)
Thanks tom, but do you think that it will cause problems with the tight coils up??
I hate taking springs out and the head is on the motor now, I used to have a fitting for the spark holes to keep the valves sealed, but its missing so I will have to take the head off my buds car etc....and I need more time to finish my monster as the snow is melting.

as long as the ends of the springs are the same, which they should be, I don't see it causing any problems. The progressive coils will always compress first, no matter where the pressure is coming from.
