Limits of 112 octane. Will I be safe
First off the set up is a LS-VTEC turbo motor. Compression is around 9.1 (if anything its a bit higher than that but not much). My question is my car was tuned on 116 octane on about 20 psi of boost. The highest octane fuel the local track has is 112. My question is will it be ok to put a few gallons of 112 and still be able to run 20 psi. I would go get some 116 but im in Louisiana and there are no places that carry that around here. If I cant run that much boost on the 112 what would be my limits. Thanks guys.
In Corky Bell's book maximum boost he says that in genereal every three octane points will give you about 2 pounds of boost.
If you do the math that works out to be 17.33 psi for 112 octane

Only run on what you were tuned on. If you know what your air/fuel and timing curves are like its very possible you can get away with running the 112 octane with 20psi.

i wish i did. I talked to the guy who tuned it in VA and he said for me to slowley crank it up and check the plugs after each pass. Damn I wish I knew where I could get some good ol C16

Where in Louisiana are you from? You running Hondata or AEM EMS or something? Autologic has cars running on pump gas running upto 18psi. With 9-1 you should be able to run 20psi, or maybe get it retuned with less timing to run on the gas you have available.

NOS octane booster at most advertises a 7 point improvement. THat reads 0.7 octane which means you'd go from say 93 ocatane to 93.7 octane.
Go buy toluene and add that. 10/gallon and it has a 114 octane rating.
I'd suggest retarding the base timing as well as your timing maps under boost.
