is a lil smoke sometimes from the pcv normal?
sometimes when its hot and i run car i see a small amount of smoke coming from the breather on the valve cover and also from the pcv valve (which i vent into atmosphere) .. is a lil normal or no? i did a comp test and it was 160-170 across all cyl.. i can smell the fumes from it sometimes
160-170 is kinda low. Whats your compression? Built motor or stock? Sounds like your getting some blow-by. Run a line from your pcv and valve cover to a coke bottle or something simple to catch any oil.
stock ls. stock spec for compression is only like 180 ish my book says. it dont really blow any oil out.. just steam once in a while
an LS motor? 160-170 is fine...that's what mine ran and it never budged lower for 2 years. Gauges can be a little off too.

Do that and see if you have excess blow-by
