Re: Life time of boosted B-series motors (HondAcura)
i had a gsr on 8lbs. stock internals. i bought it boosted. it had been boosted for about 2 years. no idea on how it was tuned before, it was suposedly on AEM, but when i got it the car was on a fmu and vafc. i had it chipped on crome within a week, and a good tune. that lasted 3 months of extreamly hard driving. ringlands went out. ill get back to you on a built motor within a month

Option 3:
1. Built Motor untuned on a SAFC
2. Beat on
GE Sleeved 81mm GSR, JE 9:1, Crower Steel, stock head/igntion, T3/T4 57 Trim, Drag Manny, 440cc
Lasted about 6k miles then I melted the pistons running 14lb I was broke and could not afford an ECU but at the same time I could not let the car sit

Stock everything LS/270whp/20k miles/beat on
same motor upped the boost/328whp/269trq/10k+miles/beat on worse
Everything is fine, but I want more power so I'm building a block right now

This is sad, this makes me not want to build my motor and just scrap the project and get a motorcyle. All i hear is built and well tuned Bseries dont last more than 10k miles.
That is definitely not anywhere near the amount of money and time you put into it making it worth it. My stock GSR at 6psi on an fmu and basemap lasted 2 days beat on hard.
Just reading this makes me wanna give up.

it blew up in two days because you beat on it with a base map and an fmu. nobody to blame but yourself on that one.
a well tuned and well built motor should last a lot more than 10k

2.well tuned motors with forged internals
a. non beat on
b. beat on
tuned Crome pistons/rods/bearings 366whp/222tq@16psi daily abuse pass the 10,000 mile mark still going strong stock sleeves...motor surpass my expectation i only expected the motor to last like 6-7kmls, will be on 100 octane soon lets see how long it will hold up then

Re: (JDM_Risa)
95 GSR daily driven.
Original motor @ 1536xx miles.
Stock head & bottom end.
Custom-pieced turbo kit running @ 6.5-7psi.
Installed Oct 2004 @ 140,xxx miles.
Tuned by Shawn Church = 260WHP.
Still running strong. Just a few boost leaks (couplings, charge piping) that I haven't bothered fixing.
Oh and last time I calculated, I got 27.6mpg mostly city driving and some freeway.
