Default Leak coming from threads of Oil Pressure Sender.. help!

I have an NPT tee coming out of my block (bspt adapter in the block threads), one male thread goes into the oil feed line, and there's a female port that is NPT for the oil pressure sender. When I connected the oil sender (which is bpst) to the port, oil comes out from the pressure sender's threads after a few minutes. Are there any options other than buying a female BPST to a male NPT adapter? Has anyone else had similar issues? Thanks for your help.

Did you use some teflon paste or tape on the threads before screwing it in?

Personally I'd just buy the adapter, but Teflon tape should help a bit... make sure not to use too much or it can break off into the line + clog the sender.

why would you not buy a proper adapter... engineers designed the npt and bspt threads differently for a reason, and the fact the pitch is different makes a world of a difference... don't try to go against what engineers get paid 70k doing....

and gezz.. it cost only $6.00 for a stainless steel fittgin at mcmaster carr, why not??

1/8 bspt male to 1/8 npt female

search for it and buy it...

Get a cheap oil pressure gauge that uses an NPT fitting and run that. The OEM one only comes on if you have less than like 3psi of oil pressure anyway, and by then you're pretty much screwed...
