Launching without blowing.
Hello all....... i jsut got some 225/50/15 BFgoodridge g-force drag radials and i was wondering if i could get soem tips from u guys about launching a car with DR's on a stock tranny (except for clutch) and axels without breaking any axels and tranny's............
i was told by a friend to just launch it hella high to make the tires spin and then once i gain momentum, let them grip.... so that way all the power istn griping form a standstill where something could break...
what do u guys think? is there any truth to this? it kinda makes sense to me.. but i have no experience launching with DR's so i dont know...
thanks for ur time.

im at 9psi now.......... i just havnt run with that kind of boost at the track yet...... been beeting modified wrx's fairly easily off a roll........i havent dynoed yet. but i am making much more than i was at 6.5 (or at least it feels that way)..... but then i doubt my whp is more than 190...so i guess it still might not be enough hp to matter... but i am trying to be safe about this because i cant afford to break an axel or tranny....
if u dump the clutch then u might break something.
Try feathering it off the line to control wheelspin... saves your tranny and helps with the 60' s too.,

the only way your not going to spin is if u feather it. I couldnt hook on 205/50 drag radials with only 163whp and 165lb-ft torque. I was also told that its actually easier to break things on drag radials. I believe as long as you dont shock the drivetrain (dump it hard) or have too much wheel hop everything will be safe.
