Test Pipe or Cat!!!!!!!!!!!!
I just wonder how many of you out there are actually using you stock cat on your turbo set up and why?
For those using a test pipe why and when to use one. What are really the benefits did you get big power gains after you went from your stock cat to the test pipe. What is the best diameter to use or is there something else besides a test pipe.
Also is this only for race set up or full built, the street or what?
I see a lot of people using the stock cat on stock motors using only a kit!
Now on to what I know:
I know that most of the time the stock cat will kill a lot of power for a full built turbo set up. because air preassure starts going out it gets to the cat and is like it makes a stop and then continues out really fast and this kills power. I would like to help the people out there and see what you are using.
Thanks

I dont know too many people with stock cats, a lot of them run high flow cats from carsound, random technology or some other brand. Keep it environmentally friendly, test pipes smell like **** anyways
Test pipe for sure. You will not regret it. Sure, people will say hug a tree get a cat. Whatever. I initially dyno'ed at 236hp with the stock cat then a week later with just the test pipe gained 30hp. The dyno graph in my sig shows where it dies off due to restriction. Just be careful be cause you do lean out.

you can run this on a odbII ecu and get no codes..

anybody try to dyno on this high flow cats for example the carsound one?
I know a stock cat is killing power
for example I saw a car dyno 195hp the power goes up and all of a sudden drops. It was the cat the one that did not allow to make power it was restricting the air flow.
Then the guy put a test pipe and his dyno was 250 hp and that was all he replaced.
But I haven seen one with the high flow cat does it flow the same??

I can attest to that. Double bunging the secondary sensor worked for me.
