Thanks!

I did it awhile ago and I seemed to lose some power down low. The sound was awful and I really didn't like it so I got a high flow cat and put that on. I think you would see more gains on a boosted motor and the sound might be less noticeable than on an NA car. JMO

Bad smell, nasty color out back.....stains the bumper.

$3,000 fine for having a gutted cat.

ANd it is bad for performance because it is an open boxy area in your exhaust track. Just build a test pipe if you want to skip the cat. Otherwise get a highflow cat.

Damn, I hope it works out ok for me. A friend already punched my cat out for me. I guess I'll find out after I get the motor back in. Anyone with a turbo running a test pipe? Get more power? I think I'll be welding a pipe into the cat, so it doesn't restrict flow.

Test pipe is good - just hope your car isn't white like mine

Seriously, a test pipe does nothing for a NA car. If you're at the track and trying to squeeze every ounce of power out of your engine, then that's cool. But otherwise your just polluting our enviroment.
