Default keep ls head, or get vtec head?

ok, im at a fork in the road here, cant decide on what i want.

A. keep my ls head, and get crower turbo cams/springs retainers(already have sk2 manifold)

B. get a b16/gsr head with gsr cams and mostlikely a b16 or a sk2 manifold

I really dont care about low end power, and i already have everything set up to just throw some cams in the LS. Would my power outputs be similar with these two setups, or would one completely demolish the other????

SETUP
t3t4 drag kit with BIG *** INTERCOOLER
LS block
b16 trans
clutch, 3 inch exhaust
afc hack now(will be running uberdata)

Pretty much my goal is to hit 300hp with about 12-13 psi boost. I know for sure with the vtec head, this is easily done, but would i get the same results out of the ls turbo cams??

BTW i dynoed it as is on 13psi and i pulled 251hp (UNTUNED)

vtec head would give you more power up top... but on the other hand you cant just slap the head on... youll need to run the external oil line, and buy dowel pins or machine the head to fit the pins. To be on the safe side... vtec oil pump, water pump and timing belt also vtec head bolts and rod bolts (if you plan on revving it past 7500). The list goes on and on with what you could do to strength the motor. If you have the money to buy the extra stuff the vtec head is worth it in my opinion...otherwise just do the cams.. 300 whp is not that hard to do at all turbo...

i could have said yeah put on a gsr head, the power will be alot more but im trying to also give you some other info so you dont become one of the people who smack the head on and your motor goes because you decided to take the cheap way out... i would say yes its definitely worth the money when you do it right... night and day from non-vtec to vtec...

That is very true it's a lot harder than just slapping the head on...There are a lot of other steps to take to make that ls-vtec last..not just slapping the head on...maybe you should search and read up on ls-vtec's and what it takes to make that motor last..before dropping all that money on the head

i know all about ls vtec's, i have built about 10 of them. I know all the right ways of putting them together. Im just wondering if my power output will be similar with turbo cams on a ls head, VS a stock vtec head with gsr cams. If so, im just gonna keep the ls head
