Default and KAA BOOOOM

I was riding home from work at 3am and boosted to about 8psi in 1st then was at about 5k rpms in 2nd and POP then check engine lights come on and car shuts off...no smoke, nothing leaking, everything looks normal, but very burnt smell coming from under the hood. I guess I'm in for some fun of taking the head off again and I can't wait to see what the damage is. I guess at least it's pretty likely that the crower rods are still intact. Damn it sucks to blow a motor...and it really sucks to blow a built motor.

Looks like I overreacted...maybe pushing the car down the road at 3am made me crazy in the head, but after further inspection it appears something blew up in the distributor because it is not getting a spark. I got the car towed back and we're going to look at it more in depth. My dad(also my mechanic) says it is something he had heard had happened with the older hondas....so i guess we'll see.

yeah, keep us posted. I'm curious as to what happened to your engine. Also what kind of engine do you have, and what have you done to it?

Yeah it sounds more like you lost spark. Not actually anything being blown. Sounds similar to what happened to me when one of my spark plug wires came off the Distributor, although with all of them at once. Hope you get it fixed quickly.

If you're checking the distributor first, take it off and make sure it spins freely, then check the coil and ignitor.
good luck,
Jared

I'll venture to say coil or ignitor.

Check the fuse first. I felt like a real when my car was down for a week while I scratched my head thinking WTF is wrong. Turned out it was the ignition fuse...
