im new to the K series what kind of boost levels can the stock internals handle. theres a kid in my town buying an SRT turbo kit with the biggest turbo they offer for his 09 SI. hes expecting huge power with stock internals. the shop hes dealing with is telling him unless he goes over 500hp the stock internals are ok they are just suggesting fuel upgrades!!!!! i was like WTF!!! i think the shop is steering him in the wrong direction with this im in talks with possibly installing the kit but i want to let him know if hes wanting big power he needs more than just a fuel pump and injectors. hes gonna need pistons and rods atleast im not sure on sleeves???

 

What size injectors is he going to be using?

 

My personal car (a 100% stock-block K20A2 with a T3/T67. H.O.) makes 462whp @ 16psi.

Zero issues.

I have tuned many customer cars with stock K20's in the same power range, and many daily drive/abuse them.

Make sure you have a competent tuner, and it's not a problem.
