K>B
So you're saying that a K-series that blows up is better than a B? I must be missing the logic here. Typically I like to keep my motor in one piece. Working motor>blown motor.

The point i was making is that k series can withstand so much more abuse than b series. It blew at 41psi lol and it was a STOCK K20a2. It was making 588whp at 3X psi, and was tracked numerous times. Can you do that with a B? Only answer would be NO.

haha, I'm not trying be an ***....just having a friendly argument hehe. But I do agree, I'd like to have a K-series.

What about the 600whp+ B16, stock bottom, tracked ...before and after the obliterated ringlands? Maybe I am missing something.

I agree. Afterall it's newer. Why would Honda go through the trouble of designing something if it's not going to be better. The K series has more tq and has the ability to spool a turbo faster.
The problem with this thread is that ">" is not defined.
does > mean more powerful , stronger, easier to work on, better parts availability?
"better" is a subjective term. A cost is no object enthusiast might say better means more powerful, in which case a stock K series is more powerful than any stock B (considering HP and TQ).
A boosted K should theoretically be able to handle more power as well. In this example, it doesn't (5XX hp vs. 6XX hp).
But you guys who say it's not better should think about TQ and area under the curve. Peak power... it's only one attribute of a fast car.
In conclusion, while B series has been tried and tested for many years, and edges the K in parts availability and experience as well as price, the K is a better designed (more powerful, stronger) engine.
Otherwise why didn't Honda just stick a bigger B series on an RSX and call it a day?
On a side note, for a person who is at the strip / road course romping on his car daily, the B would probably be a "better" (>
, cheaper alternative since they will be rebuilding regularly.
Ever see an RSX with a B series swap? I wonder why?
I like the K.

Imma have to agree.
K-Series is definatly the new motor of choice no matter how you look at it. However, Id take a running b-series over a missing 3rd cylinder rod k-series anyday.
Blowing a motor doesn't prove much. If it made that power and dindt break, something totally different.
