Just started new project what do you guys think? (long post)
First let me introduce my self. My Name is Ryan, and I originally started racing in and am from Miami. I am in the military and got staitioned in Idaho . Any way I am building a 95 honda civic ex coupe. I am currently building an ls/vtec for my car. Here is my list of parts I plan on using.
B18A block
Darton closed deck sleeves
CP 9:1 compression 85mm pistons with swain tech coating
oliver billet rods with arp 2000 bolts
Eagle crankshaft
Hybrid garage girdle
arp head and main studs
B16A head
p&p by Payn technologies
Ferrea .5mm oversized valves
??? cams, springs and retainers (suggestions?)
Full race turbo mainfold
pwr intercooler
tial bov
tial waste gate
either turbochagers.com raptor (t76) or preditor (to4s with t88 internals) turbo, or Garret gt35/40r, or garret 60-1 (opinions?)
and a 50 shot in an emergency situation
I am looking to make some serious hp here. Lag is an issue but not that great of an issue, I am willing to sacrifice having lag for shear power, looking to make around 600 to 650 hp. And yes this will be a street car (not planning on using the power on the street, just at the track).
What do you guys think? I have about 70% of the bottom end parts already. Also any suggestons and opinions on turbos and cams would be appriciated.
Thanks for the space.

Anything is possible I hope you have big fat wallet 600-650 hp in a street civic is not an easy feat. My buddy just dynoed 521 and that was like 25 or 26 psi w/117 octane I wish you luck and keep us posted. Keep this in mind 600 hp in a civic is a 9 sec car w proper suspension setup if it was that easy everyone would do it. A 600 hp turbo civic will not in my opinion be realiable by anymeans that alot of power and your going to break some expensive parts axles for that kind of power is anywhere from $700.00 to $1000.00 just my 2 cents

those turbos seems too large for your goals
supra guys run those and have alot of lag, think of what your motor is gonna do with them.

I know it's not easy, and I am definatly prepared for big expensive parts to break. I am hoping to run that type of power on race fuel. On the street I want to keep boost low and have a seperate fuel and ignition map that should keep me in the low octane fuel range. In street trim I only want to shoot for 13's but When I put it in race trim thats when I hope all hell breaks loose. I definatly know what type of road is ahead of me but I just want to see if I could do it. I know of one integra in FL that ran a 10.2 with a t76 set up and it was pushing about 650 hp. It was built by Pacific Performance. Thats the car that inspired me.
