Just joined the FI crowd!
Finally! Booooooosting my ride. GReddy, but boosted. Tried to find a descent motor, but said screw it and decided to boost and build what I got.
How well does, anyone here with a GReddy kit, like it? I don't intend on running but the lowest on the street.
Here's how sad it is that I going this route. I just wanted the "swooooosh" from the BOV. So I'm dumping a lot of $ for it. It'll pay off though.
But I'm so happy now. Wait, I just remembered the bill. Oh well, got what I wanted.
GReddy Turbo Kit
APEXi Turbo Timer
AC Autotecnic Boost Pressure Gauge (matched indiglos)
Autometer Exhaust Temp. Gauge

Re: Just joined the FI crowd! (CovertFI)
I love mine. I installed it in December 2000 at 19K miles. I just pulled the motor apart this past weekend at 43K miles. Apart from a lot of carbon buildup (the 12:1 FMU makes the car run conservatively rich), the motor looks excellent. No detonation damage (even though I experienced it several times), original hone marks still in the cylinder walls. Head's still in excellent shape, except for the carbon once again. My driving is confined to commuting in the canyons and a lot of canyon carving. I've kept it under 6.5psi, and using the Greddy Type 24 intercooler and Type-S BOV.
But! Time for lower compression pistons and a forged rods! Motor goes in later this week.
