Default Just got the car tuned. Need your input.

alright just got the car tuned with crome pro on thursday and went to the track on sunday. it made 279 whp 198lb/tq at 12 psi on a low reading mustang dyno. my best time was 13.7 @ 109 60' @ 2.3 on street tires my rev limiter is set at 7800 and 2 step at 4500. i just want to know is the 2 step and the revlimiter set too low on this tune? here are the specs on the motor setup:
-usdm b18c stock short block with stock jdm b16a head and cams (compression 180psi all across)
-arp head studs
-oem p30 head gasket
-aebs intake manifold
-gold eagle vacuum box
-act 12lb flywheel
-clutchmaster stage 4 sprung four puck clutch kit
-rcautoworks mini ram manifold
-Precision SC6152e rebuilt
-38mm tial wastegate with 7lb spring
-manual boost controller
-550cc rc injector
-255 walbro fuel pump
-b&m fuel presure guage
-b&m fuel pressure regulator
-2.5" downpipe wastegate dump routed to the dp
-2.5" n1 apexi exhaust
-egay 2.5 intercooler pipe with FMIC and hks style BOV
-msd spark plug wire
-bkr7e spark plug

My opinion is that your limiter is a little low... for a stock head 8500 should be good... two step seems fine... get some slicks...

I think you need some slicks...2 step will probably need to be adjusted by trial and error. 2.3 60's arent very good, the mph looks good to me. Seems to match the HP to me too...
Id get some bigger cams. Stock b16 cams are among the smallest oem cams as im sure you know already. Nice setup though!

If you run slicks I would def raise the 2-step to 6,000RPM's but again it is all how well your car launch's (falls on its face/burnout like a bandit). The rev limiter should def be raised as well, 8,200RPM's to be on the safe side IMO.

You shouldn't need much if any boost to launch on regular street tire... Your going to spin either way.

i say raise 2step and redline. 2step at 5500 and redline at 8400. power seems low for that boost level especially for this turbo. get 3" piping and open up the dump. then retune. power should climb all the way to redline so you could gain another 20 wheel just by raising it.

who tuned this one?

oh and 60' should be 2.0's on streets.

2.0 60's on regular street tires is extremely good and a very rare occurance.... there is absolutely no need to raise your launch boost/rpm on a non-drag radial, you will not benefit one bit except more spinning and more noise for the spectators.

I think you can pick up at LEAST 2 tenths revving her out to 8500.... I did 13.5 at 109 a few years back on a bone stock b16a, t3 super 60. A lot has to do with seat time, but the rev limiter is def. holding you back. Get back in for a re-tune and raise the limiter to 8500 or at least 8200..... these motors go STOCK to these values.... why reduce it? cutting off a portion of the power band..... makes no sense to me.

I went 12.9 @ 118 on some junk street tires and I didn't even 2-step I just rode the clutch out, babied it in first and second and let her have it in third and fourth. Idk maybee try that approach?

the guy who dyno tuned your car shoulda revv'ed and seen where it stopped making power,

does your car stop making power at 7800?

well i guess the tires i use arent "regular" street tires but still i did manage to pull off 2.0 60's. and ya raising the 2step is kinda muddy, it all depends on the setup and what works. i just figured with the sc61 itll take a little more to build a little boost is all.

I ran my Teg a few times with beat Kelly 185-65-14's and steelies and did just what you describe, 3500rpm and leave like your trying to cut in front of someone at a stoplight...lol went 12.9 @129 with a 2.3 60' spinning through the 1/8 which isnt bad for tires that are smaller than what came on a Teg stock.

the few times i cut 2.0's i did a 12.2 and 12.3 at 120. a buddy of mine up here has done the same in his teg on the same tires but higher trap i believe.

why do people drag race with street tires? get some slicks, raise the 2 step to 7.5k and the limiter to 8.5k

don't even bother with drag radials. once you go slick you'll never go back.

i can pull of 1.7's with my other car on streets

street tires are more fun imo. doesnt breaK **** as easily. you trap higher most of the time. makes for good practice.

first time out on slicks i was doing 1.6-1.7 60's. 2nd time out was 1.5's

does chrome pro offer variable 2 step?

how much does the car weigh? mph seems a bit low. My setup made 240hp and 180 tq and on 17inch street tires Iwith a 2.2 60ft I went 13.20 @113. Mine weighs about 2400 with me in it

The car weigh at 2380 full interior except for the spare tire I was wonder if it was my rev limiter that was holding me back because when I launch the car the car spins thru first and second then when I shift to third the car just bog to 5k rpm I just called my tuner and he's gonna set it at 8200 but I might go up to 8400 just in case
