depending on the cams and headwork 26 deg of timing could be fine. remember that with a free flowing exhaust system like he has you can run more timing, and b16's just like more timing anyway. egt's good, no knock, afr in the right place... go for it

I don't know what the problem is for the way that initial motor was set up 12000rpm was fine. If it weren't for the poorly assembled block It would have been fine. As far as the stock block I would rev it to 9500 ,it will love it.

Can you explain what do you mean with 26 degrees of timing?! is that the amount of advance under full boost or what?

Thanks
Malte.

yes, the 26 degres, is at the top right corner on the ignition map. from idle to w.o.t. , i belive it changes, due to tps, rpm, and map

i have another problem.... im not sure if the speed pro is having a hard time idling with the 160lb injectors but sometimes the car will idle smooth @ 1300, and other times(after decelerating coming to a stop, when the car is in vacum(around 20-25) the speed pro seems to have a hard time iding after decelerating/ vacum. any idea's on this one? injectors too big? im thinking of stepping it down to a 96 lb injector, to see if this will help the problem. also at very light throttle the car breaks up a bit, but if i give it a tiny bit more gas, the car will clear it self up and run clean and smooth.

JDOGG, the head is a fully built head by ed's racing heads.(ported and polished, full ferre3a valve train.) i still gotta hoook up my greddy egt(so im not sure what temps its running up top) any more input?

can anyone give a good starting point as to where i should run the timing?

i had the car out..pretty much ever since i got back from the dyno(loving it) and the damn thing dont make 10 psi till 7500/8000 in 3rd gear. in second fully on it, the car is only making 5-6 psi. big turbo....... once it gets up to about 8/8500 and hits 10-11psi, the car really takes off and it breaks the tiires loose top end of third.

what kind of engine management do you running? on the stock honda ecu the top right corner of the ignition map is low rpm and full load. In my ignition map i have there -5,4° Advance. if yours are the same scales then you must have a huge amount of advance, in this case its a wonder to me that the engine didn't blow allready with 26° advance under full boost and low rpm. but maybe in yours thats different.

Thanks
Malte.

You have some tuning issues at partial throttle and you need to tune the rpms at that rpm levels and with a load on the car. Breaking up COULD be excessively rich at light part throttle BUT also could be lean then get's richer with more throttle. You need to get a wideband on it and spend a day street tuning all rpm levels and loads, highway etc etc . The turbo sounds WAAAY to big for that stock B16A! LOL! My 84mm B16A has a T67 and reaches full boost 28 psi by approx 6500-6700 rpm. 9.5:1 CR What turbo? Good luck on yoru tuning and keep us informed of your progress! Did you sell the pro car bro? Gonna run Turbo 4/Sport FWD class?

sounds like you need to play with teh INJECTOR timing. try retarding them. should clear the popping stuff up.

remember that at low rpm/low duty the injector is only open for a very short time and probably just puddeling the fuel on the back of the intake valve.

do you have the decel fuel cut off turned on? when it idles funny check to see if thats coming on.

boostfed,
my hotrod car is on hold. we are gonna stick with my buddies car HERE ARE SOME PICS OF IT, because its just about ready. i would like to run in the sfwd class. but still need a few things taken car of to make the car legal for the class.
the turbo is just a p trim turbonetics t66bb. i swaped the ex. housing for a .81 a/r(worked good with the built ls bottom) but i think im going to swap my old housing back on with the baby b16 bottom(.58 a/r)

my speed pro has a wide band with it already, i could do some data logging and than go back over the log, and tune the map from there ???? <--- this is a question, sorry but i cant explain myself very well. lol would this be too much of a hassle, should i just open up my maps and mess with it while its doing its "sputter thing"

JDOGG,
where can i look on my speedpro software for the decel fuel cut ? is that in the operational parameters? or would that be in with the fuel maps and such. i have been looking around in the software(i have the dos and windows versions), and i havent come across decel fuel.

would it be possible to send someone my maps and have them take a look at them?

roydogg, ill bring the car down when i put the stock tank back in, and get an exhuast on it. stoping every hour to get 3 gallons of gas is a major pita. i must have stoped at the gas station like 5-6 times yesterday to fill up that "HUGE" 3 galllon cell. lol

hmm... wonder what i could do w/ mine..
70 a/r w/ ex. 84 a/r 64.5 trim

BTW, that is pretty nice power for a 1.6 keep it up

Jeebus 26 degrees of timing, that motor isn't gonna last long either on pump gas.
You'd probably make more power with less timing. 15-20 degree territory depending on a LOT of factors.

It is only 10-11 psi though. I made 424whp with about 14psi on pump gas, gotta see the timing #s later though.
