just bumped the boost up
alright, i have the greddy kit. It was set stock at 5psi. As of yesterday I bumped it up to 8psi. I have a bbk 255lph fuel pump and using the vafc to street tune it. One, i wanted to know if you guys think this is to much boost to run on stock internals and two does anybody have a chart or anything of where i should add fuel to different rpm ranges. I plan on getting rc 310's, but for right now i just want to make sure she can handle the 8psi. Thanks

that's my problem, i haven't lowered it at all. I haven't heard any pinging or detonation so i think i'll be safe. I don't plan on taking it up to 8psi unless i go to the track. I try to be nice to her on the street but every now and then i have to open her up.
yep, i'm also using a bbk255lph fuel pump and she's just street tuned. I'm gonna get the rc 310's and a fpr, but for now i just have her running alittle rich.
Audible detonation is very destructive, but why do you think many people blow up their rings/lands/melt pistons, etc? Maybe its because they never "heard" detonation. You should be doing more than just listening. Check you plugs, watch your EGT (oh I hope you have one!), pay attention to the way the car pulls, smells, feels, etc. On stock injectors you better watch yer ***!
well let me ask you then. It's obvious i'm new to the FI area, probably cause i worry so much about blowing things. The car pulls nice and hard, it never has given me a problem since the turbo went on. By smells, what do you mean, what would it smell like if it were rich or lean. And to answer you one question, i don't, it was supposed to be installed today, but greddy didn't ship out till wed. and i should have it this coming wed. I don't plan on pushing into boost or past 5psi on the street. But i'm going to the track tonight and i just want to make sure she is safe. I don't drive her hard, but 8psi is 8psi.

smells: burned oil or oil that is cooked off. i think some one posted that honda uses their injectors at a high duty cycle, like 70%+- that would mean they stay open 70% of the time (i think it is crank rotation?) so with the amount of air you are pushing at 5 psi, i would imagine your injectors are at about 100% duty cycle. i would not boost any more with out larger injectors. i would go on ebay right now and buy some dsm injectors.
well i have what i believe to be a set of 450's but they look like ****. The black housing around the tip are broken on some and just cracked on the others. I wanted to send them out to get cleaned and everything. But i was told they were alittle to big and that i would have to lean out fuel alot so i got a little hesitate about putting them in. Do you think 310's would be big enough. And thanks for all you help.

We can compare times
Ok, not really...I'll be in a lighter CRX with a manual tranny
i personally dont have my 450's yet, but everyone that is doing the vafc hack that i know of is atleast running 450's or 440's. if they can do it i dont see why you cant.
your going to mir tonight? tight, what color is your crx? I'll have a red coupe with the turbo. Stop by and say what's up.
Here's a bunch of pictures of my car if we ever do run into each other...
