JUN Lightened Flywheel.
Hey fellas,
I just purchased a JUN lightened flywheel for my JDM B18C1 powered 92 hatchback. Was this a worthwhile buy? Will it sacrifice streetability? Ive never driven a car with a lightened flywheel so im not sure how the cars respond to them. Let me know, Thanks.

is it the ultra light? or the regular? On the heavier of the two there's something wrong with the teeth and it can cause starter problems.

You won't have any problems. But you will have to rev it a little more to get the car to move off the line. The lack of weight reduces the inertia that was stored in your stock flywheel. You should be fine.

I have a 12lbs flywheel on my daily driver, and I drive in a lot of traffic with some big hills. My only complaint is that it is not light enough. I think you will be fine, it might take a little getting used to, but it is not too light.

no not necassarily, dropping the clutch wont be as effective, the turbo technically spools slower as a result - just like in Gran Turismo, buy a lightened fly0 for a turbo car and try launching going uphill, the car wont start.
PS I think VTECPWR comments are from an NA point of view, there is no way he is turbo

No, the turbo is not in yet, most of the parts are lying around the house. But it will hold the same once the car is turbo'd, I will still feel that the flywheel is not light enough. You have to rememeber there is a difference between a factory turbo's car and a factory NA car with a turbo added. If you start dropping your compression you might begin to have some driveability issues, but if you are stock I think it should be fine.
