i have a 1998 integra ls and i am running a jrsc at 6 psi and will be running 10 psi in a week or two. i have a straight pipe on right now to replace my cat. am i better off keeping the cat off or putting it back on. the car smells like **** plus a lot of people have told me that u need the cat for back presseure. any tips will be helpful thanks.

 

Need the cat for backpressure? You want to minimize backpressure with that blower on there. Get a high flow cat.

You don't need backpressure per say, but you need to optimze flow pressure and flow velocity.

 

yeah i have a straight pipe that lookslike a resinator inside right now. that is what i am using .should i use that or put the factory cat back on

 

Factory cat is too restrictive. Get a high flow cat instead.

Get a cheap $100 high flow cat. You will get fined $$$$$ in MA/RI if you ever get snagged. $10,000 to be exact. Besides, it smells. You won't "loose" any power; you need to be making 250+ for that to be an issue.

 

i got a 2.5 inch test pipe on mine... but that is because the kamikaze header and my cat-back exauhst would not give enough room to put the cat on...........so i just made a test pipe..................i dont know if its good thing.......... but my car is MUCH louder because of it.....

greekspeed have youhad any problems with the jrsc on your carand did usee a good gain i am putting one on m,y car. if uhave anypictures could u send them tome.

 

I put a race cat on and love it, besides the 200% increase in exhaust noise. It made my flowmaster go from a deep quiet cop friendly growl to a tiger who keeps getting his tail stepped on...

I definately felt a difference in the top 1000rpm, but noticed it most with the sudden increase in rpm with a blip of the throttle, kinda like my lightened flywheel did. Definately worth the $75.

 

i dont have any picks but i could take some with my digicam.......... at this poiint i have had absolutly no probs with my jrsc (and its used too!) have had it on my car fro 9 months..... i drive the **** out of my car all the time and it still pulls strong and does what its suppose to...

TEST Pipe=Good ****...................cat=**** u put on when u go to IM ur car

 

so you like the jrsc. i can't decide which one is better a turbo or the jrsc

 

Turbo has greater power gains generally than a jrsc... just depending on different setups...............

But i am very happy with my JRSC.........no complaints...
