Default JRSC question...

I might have a chance to get a used JRSC....it is probaly about 3+ years old with some decent mileage on it....what should i look for to make sure it is mechanically sound??? i would be getting it really cheap since its an older piece but am just wondering about if it is safe to buy. Can they be rebuilt? what type of cost is involved?

Yes, they can be rebuilt if they have to. Magnason actually makes the superchargers and they are then distributed and sold through JR. Look for caster bean oil leaks on the underside of the blower. Aside from that you can't really check out too much else. Knowing the history of the product would be nice. How was the car driven? What PSI pulley has been used on it? Look for obvious damage to the manifold and pulley. The Eaton design that they use is supposed to have a 100,000 mile problem free life or longer.

You might want to try the people on Hostboard.com. They may be able to tell you more. Go to Hostboard----->"Cars, Hotrods, Trucks"-------->"Forced Induction Integras"

Just for reference I have been using my SC problem free for two years now.

well here is what i know about it.....i sold my crx a few years ago to this guy who totally killed its looks but he did one thing right. he swapped in a gsr motor and added a JRSC to it. He is the ultimate ricer so i am sure he raced it alot and just beat the hell out of it for no reason. It supposedly has a 8lb upgrade according to the owner but he hardly speaks the truth about these things....the only reason he took it off is b/c he went/going turbo route.....any more info will be appreciated guys
