Default JRSC help needed...weird problem

I just reinstalled my JRSC after my charger rebuild and am getting a weird problem. Before the rebuild, I was getting 9-10 lbs of boost with the same pully setup that I have now. After the rebuild, the boost will not climb up past 5-6 lbs. Now, I dont hear squealing coming from any belt or anything like that, thus I dont think that it is slippage. I tried tightning the charger belt further to completely make sure the belt was not slipping and I guess i overtightened, the belt was shreaded seconds after I started the car.

Also, I dont think that I have any vacuum leaks....my idle is buttery smooth, just like before the rebuild.

Is there such a thing as boost leak with a JRSC? Wouldnt my idle be messed up if i had a leak?

I rebuilt the charger through Stiegemeir, is it a possibility that maybe they messed up?

Any help is greatly appreciated!

When they rebuilt your charger, did they re-seal the rotors to the housing? Did they clean off all the rotor coatings and leave it like that, or did they re-coat the rotors? If there's no coating on the rotors, your rotor/case clearance is probably too high, and the blower can't pressurise the air enough anymore, because the air is getting past the case.

I once talked to a guy about rebuilding my blower, since he had alot of experience rebuilding the Eatons for Fords and GMs. The first thing he said was that he cleaned off all the coating on the rotors, as he felt you didn't need the coating anyways. At that point I realised I did not want this guy working on my blower and thanked him for his time. This is a company that does alot of OEM warranty work for Ford and GM .

i took the coating off of my rotors and i still make 6 psi on a stock kit... I only did it because it was allready comming off and i did't want it to end up in my motor. when i but a b20 pulley on i will let you know what kind boost im making.

I've heard of other guys running normal boost levels with no rotor coating

My rotors have no coating and I run 10 PSI on a 2.2L motor, works fine.

It was just the alternator to crank belt that needed tightning. All is well now!
