i did contact you, and you told me i should dent the pipe in to make it clear, dent my 2.5 inch downpipe in a full inch just to clear the ac? doesnt make much sense to me. there was a weld to close to the bolt hole on the turbo outlet flange also, so no bolt would possibly fit, i tried allen bolts.i figured i'd rather pay 40$ to have my local welder fix the downpipe than spend it on shipping returning it to you, especially after the wait (four months, and every week you told me it would ship out at the end of the week) the first time. i didnt reallize that the poor placement of the turbo was goign to be that much of an issue untill a week after the install when my a/c compressor failed, after welding the downpipe to my exhaust, and doing more work to get my setup running. at this point i figure i'm out several hundred dollars for an a/c compressor, more money for shipping if i did send it back to you, and waiting god knows how long to get a return. this is my daily driver. since i'm dying without ac, i decided i'd just pay more money to get a local guy to do it. LHT performance, and needing a new manifold/downpipe gives me a chance to upgrade to a bigger turbo now anyawys. not trying to flame, just dont feel like dealing with you, and figured this thread woudl be a good way for me to help some fellow hondatech members by allowing them to purchase a JG-fab manifold/downpipe (that actually fits now, if you dont care about the heat on your A/C system or the fact that the turbo placement puts the compressor side right against your a/c lines, and puts the inlet almost right against the stock radiator fan) without him needing to deal with the wait involved in getting it directly from you.

long and short, you shipped me a sub par, crappy product, you cant deny that, i'll post pictures when i get the new setup ready.

Sounds like this was your first turbo kit? Installing a kit is never easy and if you think that every thing should go perfect than you should just have done it all yourself. Now to blame James that your ac compressor went out because of his manifold is BS. James’s products are of good quality and he does put allot of effort to ensure he sends good stuff. Either way you look at it, AC and turbo on a Honda are always a tight fit so your complaints about things being to close are BS also. I am glad you took your business somewhere else, you can now complain to someone else and James is free to finish other manifolds.

Keep up the good work James.

You are right I had told you to dent it then, moments later I told you just to send it all back and I would build you an entirely new setup
Had you done that all would be well but instead you felt the need to not send it and complain because you didnt want to take advantage of my warranty....

looks like some one else has talked you into getting something bigger from what your post says , thats cool but did you know that there are 2 ac models for b series and also different blocks can accommodate? three different compressor lines as well? is this you stock a/c that came with the car or something you put together yourself? things happen, and anyone knows when building cars especially ones with limited space your gonna run into problems, i can see where you doubt comes from and thats not james' fault and he actually said he would take care of it like some other mfg. just send it back and get another one that you want but it comes down to how much your willing to spend

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by delsolnewkid &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">i got my jg-fab items two months ago. i waited four months, the runners from manifold didnt fit with the holes in the flange, the downpipe was a solid half inch past where the A/C compressor would be (when i ordered an A/C compatible manifold/downpipe), and i've gone through a couple a/c compressors even after i had my local guy chop/redo the downpipe. because the manifold has my turbo seriously like three inches off the block, like two and half inches from my A/C condenser, (an inch away from my thin fan) and it's just too much heat on the A/C equipment. ill fitting and poorly made. anyways, the point of my post. i'm going to buy another manifold/downpipe from a guy here in town who will put my turbo near the block, like every other manifold i've ever seen. so if anyone wants a JG-fab b series log manifold/downpipe for a b-series and a gt28r, i'll be selling mine. pm me to get it sooner than james will get it to you.</TD></TR></TABLE>

For the record, my setup had similar problems with compatibility (downpipe to a/c compressor and so on...). First thing I did was call James. First thing he told me was to send it back for a complete do-over at no charge. Even though the wait has been a pain, I respect the fact that he's working everything out for me.

look, obviously james turns out an ok product every once in a while, or you guys wouldnt be contradicting/speaking condecendingly to me, but i'm telling you, the flange for the turbo is at like a 30 degree angle to the horizontal, not like every other manifold i've seen, it kicks the turbo like three four inches from the block, and i seriuosly had to cut my radiator fan shroud to get the turbo to even fit, what my mechanic is telling me is that it just isnt far enough off the condenser for the air to flow. at these temperatures the oil is breakingdown, and that destroys compressors. i've installed a couple turbo kits, so i know that when youre putting a turbo on a non turbo car, youre entering the realm of fabrication, and it takes work/creativity, but like i said some of this **** like the down pipe welds being too close to bolt holes in the flange for me to put a bolt in, is just bullshit.

not here for arguments, i'm just upgrading to something else. thought i'd just see if i could help someone else out by selling them the manifold, i really dont have weeks to send it back, as this is my daily driver.

how long have you been waiting for the warranty repairs? how long did you wait on the manifold/downpipe in the first place?

As said above get a thin universal pusher fan from orielly/autozone, I recommend that to all my ac customers and even those without....

The problem with George's setup was at the time I didnt know that 5 bolt and 4 bolt turbine housings put the turbo in slightly different locations,
For ac applications it put the turbo farther into the engine and I didnt know cause I just had a turbine housing at the time, not a full mockup turbo
So his was hitting the block, I am rebuilding him an entirely new setup that will fit free of charge because of him bringing this to my attention

I got my setup and it looked really nice. I ran into some probs on the install though. Had to trim my ps bracket hardcore to fit the wastegate, needed a push/pull electric fan to mount on front of radiator, had to trim one of the exhaust manifold studs and nut because it would hit the wastegate elbow when tightened, and the head flange was not perfectly flat, I have a leak in the manifold right at the third runner, while the rest is sealed, I also had to extend my 02 sensor harness because it was the dp held it about 2 or 3 inches to far to connect the harness. Alot of unexpected things, but got though all of them except the warped head flange so far, its pouring smoke between the head and the manifold...

get a nice block of wood and some sand paper....you'll quickly find the leaky areas....and then when puttin the exh gasket back on a lil coat of rtv copper silicone works wonders

James & his dad are great people and sell great products. If your boosting your car you have to realize this is all custom and takes a while to complete each order. Hes trying hard to give 100% satisfaction and wouldnt do you wrong. If you have any problems w/ fitment then he'll warranty his work. Just keep it to PMs because it hurts business when a small issue is brought to the board instead of to his phone, email or PM.

Good luck James, keep up the good work

As to trimming power steering bracket and lengthing wires
these are custom parts and you are in the custom game, not
everything is a oem fit.

Use a mr. gasket copper 1/8" thick gasket
they work wonders and only cost $25
