JG block 600 whp??? good idea???
Whats up guys. I have a a JG block that i picked up super cheap. I am in the process for doing a build with a goal of around 600whp. I am not dead set on using the block but if it will work why not. It is currently at 81.5mm and has less then 5000 miles on it. my question is it safe to use? I know JG has had some issues in the past. I am not sure if they were quality issues or time delay. maybe some of you guys have more imput for me.

fortunately, i have had my JG block for four years now. it is on a second rebuild, and have not any problems with sleeves sinking. boost levels @ 29 psi ~ 620 whp. 83mm bore.

I don't think it has to do with the series of sleeve. JG's quality is incosistant period. Out of all the companies that is available for sleeving, I would just stay away from them all together. Not worth the risk for our hard earned money.

Everything about that company is inconsistent. When their work is good, it's really good. But when it's bad... you get milkshake valve covers.

i personally made 620 on my jg block at 26lbs of boost at 82mm But like everyone says...jg is inconsistent...my buddy david had problems with his jg block... and im not...so go figure.

I have enjoyed my JG set up for the last year now. List of components can be seen/read in the January issue of DSport. Motor has seen well over 600 hp at 26 PSI.

No problem with mine and I have over 12k miles on it but, my block is almost 6 years old.
I'll tell you what, let me know who has that block and I'll go get it.
