Default JDM d15b and Vitaras?

Will they work? Some say yes some say no...some say you need to use main bearings for a d15 and rod bearings for a z6. Just wanna make sure before I go ahead with this build up.

How low?
For some reason I thought that the CR would be a tad higher then a z6 with vitaras.

I can't answer your question but he has a z6 and vitaras (according to sig), and if he says it's too low then he's prolly right.

I know they are around 8.5:1 with a d16z6.....already that's way too low in my book.

the problem with some d15's is the stroke that is different from d16. Thats why its not as easy as just taking a Z6 rod or any other D16 rod and throw it in..

The only rods to make it work would be Going with CROWER rods which are expensive($600)

For that price you buy a D16 block, eagles and vitaras

150 for a d16 block + 300 Eagle rods + 125 Vitaras= $575

sc50 turbo, home made log mani, turbosmart ultragate wastegate, 3" dp, 3" exhaust, hks hyper ti muffler, stock intake manifold, stock head and block, vortech bov, uberdata for tuning, 14 psi made 264 wheel and 200 ft tq...and yeah the tuner is really good, makes power on anything and makes everything super reliable

I was confused, a JDM D15b is not the same as a d15b7 as you described it. In a JDM D15b motor yes the compression would be around the same as a z6, 8.5:1 or so...

You still have the crap-*** short deck D15, married to the D16 rod that comes in the D15B/VTEC. CR is going to change.

Beware standard sized Vitara in a standard sized D-series bore. Excessive piston-bore gap != happy.

I thought the d15 rods were the same as the z6's

According to Bizzar(from the link above), everything should work...shouldn't it?

I dunno if it will work, and since JDM D15B VTEC are sorta obscure around here I don't care to find out.

The rod is the same as D16, the deck height is shorter, and whether or not the G16 piston has a good compression height for the D15 block is up to someone else to determine.

I think that sums it nicely
