Its alive...got some questions though.
Okay, setup is a b18b turbocharged hatch. Got it running, runs good...esp. w/ hondata. Okay, so I DO NOT have a DP yet, which is why the car has only been idled and driven 1/2mile. Now, I did give it some gas in a tall gear to make sure my source for the wastegate was a good one....it was, solid 6psi. As soon as I saw it hold, I lifted. Now, I know there is no restriction since it is open turbo, but the thing was @ 6psi by 3k rpms, I lifted at 3200rpm. The turbo is a T3/T4 60 comp. wheel, 60 comp, 63a/r stg.3 wheel. That spool is very early compared to what most say it should be for a turbo of that size. I know it will spool early since there is no restriction, but I figured that was insane. Anyways, other than that, does anyone know of a DP that will fit a 5bolt Garrett T3/T4 on a maxrev mani? Oh and yes, the car will sit until it gets the downpipe, I know the ill effects of running an open turbo, so keep your feelings to yourselves

I know its bad to run open compressor, but what will happen if you run no downpipe. I have never tried it, just wondering.

What is this crap?
Re: Its alive...got some questions though. (Johnyquest)
i think running open turbine raises the chance of burning excess gas right at the turbine which could make the temps spike really high and damage the turbine.
if you run a 2stroke motor with no muffler it will melt the piston as fresh oxygen leans out the mixture when the gases are escaping and causing the temperature spike.

Something to that effect...
But yeah, it's not good at all to even drive the car without a dp, let alone boost it...

on a side note.
if you arent running a downpipe of any sort you could imagine that your compressor is sucking in some of your exhaust as intake air when you try to gas it

Re: Its alive...got some questions though. (Bolts(eastermaro))
I am not running the car. It was run for 1/2 a mile because I had to drive a 1/4 mile to the exh. place in a failed attmept to make a DP, then it was driven 1/4mile back. I wish one day people on honda-tech would discuss purely the questions at hand instead of crap I already know about. I am aware of all the risks from what I did and I felt 1/2 a mile was worth the risk. Guess what, I was right, the turbo is fine, nothing is melted, everything works. Oh, nevermind about the downpipe, after searching for about 1hr, I finally found my answer.
