Default ITS ALIVE,(evo ownage inside)

yes sir, i pulled an evo by a car or so , I know thats not saying much but ive had many problems getting my sohc turbo to run right, mostly timing issues but finally its all straightened out. he didnt want to go from a stop so we went from a 40 roll, my best time is a 14.8 @ 96.5 in my turbo sohc( timing off and 8 psi), his was a 13.8 @ 101. I was at 10 psi and man it pulled hard, im really happy with my turbo ex.

Congrats, but that guy must not be able to drive. They go low 13's high 12's with hardly no mods. Why didnt he want to go from a stop.....he's the one with the advantage, guess he must have though he would have killed ya.

Haha, i just reread my post....It did look like I was being mean, sorry. Im just stating the obvious. But hey, its not how fast the car is....its how the driver can drive the fast car, right?

Hehe, are you sure he wasn't just breaking in his motor and keeping it under 4K? :-)

4G63s are nice motors, and with 19psi of boost on tap, he would have owned you if he wanted to

no stock evo has gone anywhere near a 12 sec. et with a "normal" driver, this one was stock and hitting high-mid 13s, thats about right in our texas weather. but it get full boost at around 4500 rpm

and for the record he was definitely not taking it easy, we also raced several times so it wasnt a fluke, and later that night i walked on my buddies mustang gt from a stop, he runs mid 13s. of course after he heated up his mt streets he took me by a car and a half. but the whole point of this thread is that my car is actually running like it should and i couldnt be happier, and most of it is thanks to honda-tech

Thats nice, Im glad your car is running good.
But, I saw 3 or 4 evos running 12.4-12.99 at etown this past weekend.
And, do you really think you would have walked him if you guys started from a stop?
Im really not trying to be a dick here

NO WAY!! ****, I have still to see stock evo's hit 12's!! All they've been hitting up here in MN is 14's and HIGH 13's. maybe to hit 12's they added a little more boost? who knows.

yes i honestly think i would have walked HIM off the line, but put a different driver in the same car and we might have a different story, keep in mind it was about 90 degrees outside and humid as hell, obviously he would have owned me on the launch but i would have caught up i think, anyway it doesnt really matter, im just glad the cars running good, and its still *untuned* on the hack

Damn, I missed it. I wanted to see the Evo's run! The red Evo looked like it had a boost controller mounted on the dash. I could barely see in the car because it was getting dark. Mid to high twelves is very realistic. I know this is magazine racing, but Motor Trend ran a 13.08@105mph (stock of course).

Nice. I've seen a few "stock" Evos run and the highests times where 13.5-13.6. That was in 70 degree temps during the day. I didn't know they were 12 sec cars. Wow. Anyway, your times should get faster in better weather.

He prolly did'nt wanna race from a stop cause they are hard to launch. It takes practice to get the launch right with AWD cars. Especially for new owners, first time AWD drivers.
