Internally or externally wastegated?
Is one better than the other? I'm starting to piece together a turbo kit for my LS teg, and probably will go with a T3 turbo. I've seen some that say it comes internally wastegated, but can be made to be external. Does it really matter? I'm probably gonna look for a revhard manifold...does that make a difference in which way i go (revhard mani only allows external or something)?? Thanks for any help.

I am not sure if the internal wastegate will have clearance with the block. (Don't take my word on it) Anyway best bet is to get an external wastegate and if you don't want to just dump the exhaust gas into the atmosphere have it plumbed back into the downpipe. Good Luck

Thanks for the info. Do you know how I would go about changing a T3 with an internal wastegate to use an external wastegate? I don't care about dumping the exhaust gases...I don't have to deal with emissions or anything...just curious if one has more benefits than the other.
