internal--->external wastegate???help

Default internal--->external wastegate???help

hey all i'm currently running a basic turbo set-up on my DA...

however my turbo has an internal wastegate and i'm looking to purchase an external wastegate and switching it out...to run more boost than the 7lbs i'm currently running....

if i run a boost controller can i increase the lbs eventhough its an internal wastegate...ive heard both YES and NO...i'm in need of serious guidance

i was just curious to see if anyone has done it and how much work its going to be to do this....i currently have it tuned on chrome pro at 7lbs. would it be wise to have it tuned again if i were to do the switch from internal to external? is it necessasary?

any help advice would be great....

Its not hard at all to dismantle an internal gate and change it to an external gate but the exhaust manifold has to be set-up to flange on an external gate..As far as tuning wise, you wouldn't have to re-tune the car as long as you take it back to 7 psi..When you go turn increase psi then the car will need more fuel..

i started this thread, It might help you avoid getting a different manifold if you didnt want to spend the $$ on it right now

yea bro i have the mounts for the external wastegate on my mani already i just have it blocked off with a cover/plate thing...
