Default Intercooler Sprayers.....

I see people are always asking if intercooler sprayers work. I myself had asked this question a few times on here. I just found this link and it seems to be a good read.

Hope you enjoy it.

Unless your IC is so tiny that it gets grossly heatsoaked in a matter of minutes those are totally useless.

no wonder i lost HP on the dyno when they unleashed a big bottle of NOS onto my intercooler while they weer doing a 4th gear pull went down to 320 just because of that. plus i think the turbo sucked up some of the NOS as well since it was being sprayed everywhere and the turbo was spooling really hard in the 4th gear pull

If they sprayed nitrous onto your cooler you would have picked up a significant amount of power because your motor would have been ingesting quite a bit of nitrous.

Colder intake temp=denser air=more 02=more power ......In theory. I remember when they knocked 1/2 a second off a stock mustang GT by playing with the tire pressure and icing the intake.....It was a while ago in Car and Driver I believe.

So would a water sprayer be a better alternative? Definately cheaper.

That article was talking about CO2 sprayers, not NO2 sprayers. The NOS should have increased you power.

They may have had the bottle filled with CO2 though.

Definitely, they should work with flying colors, its almost like when you put ice in a water/air inter-coolers. On a side note i read in scc magazine that they routed a line off they're washer fluid lines to spray water outside of there inter-cooler and radiator whenever they pressed the windshield wipers on, and they noticed that the "project Silvia" was keeping cooler
