Patience my friend, your answers lie within the archives. Well anyway, the greddy type-31 worked out well for me when I had the old 99 EX.

yea i was looking at that when i ordered the kit last night, but it was around $630, and since my cc is almost at its max i need to find a IC for somewhat less than that

would a dsm side mount ic work ok? or should i look for something a little better?

I would say get one of these. If you not going crazy on the boost these will be more than enough, look beautiful on civic too. I'm trying to decide which one I want myself.

Others are gonna tell you this isn't good enough, get a bar and plate or spearco or greddy, why pay so much when you don't need it????

Spearco's can be had starting at $335 on eBay. I got a 26x6x3 for that price, brand new.
