Default Need Help w/ picking an intercooler... for my 2000 EX Sohc greddy turbo kit

i want something that will work well and not give me too much lag.

i have the greddy sohc kit on my EX, this is a TD04-15G turbo that i plan on running 8psi on. its at 5.5 right now.

i was looking at the intercooler that comes w/ the drag kit? or somethign along that size??

i want one that fills up the bottom of the bumper hole but not too big.

its just the greddy one is EXPENSIVE and really small and dinky looking.....

i know i'll probably have to get pipeing done if i DONT go w/ the greddy.

suggestions?

can i get the DOHC GREDDY SI intercooler and use the pipes that come w/ that one??

i've been dealing with this same problem lately.. if you really have to fill up that space you can buy a skyline core from http://www.xs-engineering.com or you can just buy the larger greddy intercooler and itll have all the pipes for you.. i priced the XS + endtanks + pipe to be around 1000 which was more then the large greddy kit.. i'll post some pictures of my car in a week or two and show you the greddy one.. apex-i makes an intercooler as well as the f-max one and drag kits you can probably get shops to order just the ic+piping

I think the piping is different, but don't worry about that. You also can't worry about if it fills the bumper. Do you want to show off or go fast? Get a Spearco ...

check mine out at http://www.geocities.com/mplex2000/p...rbo_parts.html

brian b - you have a sohc turbo kit too? did u get the greddy large intercooler for the dohc kit or the sohc kit?? they are diffrent sizes, so i'm wondering which one you got?

mplex2000 - i want to do both, but i think i got the wrong car to go fast...hehe well the wrong motor.

i think i should have swapped and turbo'd later

but anyways what are the mesurements on that spearco intercooler?

I went with the GReddy T31, which is bigger than the 26R. It was expensive, but i thinnk worth it.

I also had to get the upgrade piping kit but I think I paid around 800 for everything.

I think Greddy IC's are probably some of the best quality pieces of work I've seen. Many people seem to like them a lot. I think my Spearco doesn't look as tidy, but it's got the "Ford Tough" look.. err, at least the tough part.

The core is 18.5 x 6.5 x 3.5

skyline core would be a waste for a greddy kit. especially only boosting 5.5 psi. it would cause a whole bunch of lag. skyline core should only be used for high HP applications.
