Default Intercooler piping

OK, I am going to do some custom intercooling piping to go with my johnny race car front mount. Now my question is the pipe from JC Whitney that I am looking at is Aluminized, now will there be any problems welding on this kind of pipe?

I have been wondering the same thing!

Also, I can't find the piping on the JC whitney site! What links do I go through?

P.S. I am going to be boosting my d16z6 in a few months also! What set up are you planning on running? I am planning on the greddy kit w/ johnnyracecar.com 6 inch intercooler etc... just wondering

there's no problem welding aluminized turbing/pipes...Just look for "mandrel bends" on their search.

Cool I am glad to know it will work out alright.

As for my set-up I will be running the greddy kit with a johnny race car 5 inch intercooler. I am looking forward to getting everything all set-up on my car. And here is the link to the piping http://www.jcwhitney.com/webap...10101

Let me know what pipes you end up buying form JC Whitney and how they fit!

I won't be buying pipes till about mid summer, I won't have the money till then!

don't know if u would be interested or not, but im selling charge pipes for any 92-95 civic. i made them for my d15b turbo but should fit any engine. might not fit GSR swap tho because the TB is lower. includes all the rubber connections i have and DSM BOV already mounted. let me know if u would be interested. might save u some money and time because mine are already assembled and ready to ship.

I've got the JC whitney piping and it was difficult to weld. I was using a MIG welder, and had to pulse the trigger to get a good bead, otherwise it'd just burn a big hole in the pipe since its only like 1/8" thick.

just turn the heat down. we would weld with a mig and then go back over with a tig to smooth out the beeds and get a better bond. only thing we had problems with, sometimes the metal would get to hot and sink in a little into the pipe. u just had to watch how hot it got. u can always just use ribber connectors from lowes or home depot, but i would weld if u are going to run more than 10psi.
