Default intercooler damage

will damage to my intercooler affect the performance of it? This ignorant person hit me and there is a small hole in the intercooler and about 10 fins are bent. Does this mean that i need a new ic?

I'd get a new one. Is the car alright otherwise? How bad did he hit you?

you have to seal the hole. take some pics and show us...you might want to find a good aluminum welder.

the car is fine. just a scratch, but the ic has a hole about the size of a dime. the bumper support hit the ic and made the hole. he hit me at about 5 mph.

the hole does not look like a puncture. It looks like some fins were pushed in a circular pattern. will this affect the performance of my kit?

if its just the fins, then bend them back to normal condition with a small flat head screwdriver....however, if there is a hole in the rows of the IC, then you got problems...

If it is a hole in the IC itself, and not just the fins, then yes, it would basically be like having a like a hole in your intake pipe.

Dude, if it didn't cause problems, the manufacturers would drill holes in them to save weight.

i think that the fins are pushed back. I don't think that there is a hole going through the ic. i'll try and take some pics.
