I've read on here that there was a thread in which someone posted up some IAT data comparing a name brand intercooler versus some variety eBay intercooler, and that there was a significant difference. I've searched, and I'm only seeing references to it, not the actual thread with data.

Does anyone know where it is?

No, I just used the search function on Honda-Tech. Do you think the test being cited is not a Honda-Tech sourced test?

Got any ideas on search terms that might be useful? I tried what seemed obvious and come up empty.

You have 2 threads on I/C's now. With your 300-350 goal get the treadstone or Precision and call it a day. I think your thinking too hard on this.

 

You won't find a comparison worth looking at so don't bother searching.

If you are into saving money, buy the Precision knock off intercooler from SSAC. They cost $100 less and are said to perform about the same by most accounts. This is pretty universally accepted on most car forums. Again, finding actual data to back this up will be difficult but there is something to be said when most car communities have accepted those intercoolers to not be complete garbage.

But I hear what you are saying nowtype, I've done a good bit of searching around, to very little avail. Thanks for the heads-up on the SSAC knockoff, too. If I'm going to go in the direction of something like the Precision 350 HP intercooler, I will probably buy the real thing, but I'm not sure.

I may be overthinking things a bit, but it has been enlightening!
